Connoly's 1939 FAMILY HISTORY, "E. Wes Benjamin's father [Elijah] had two brothers living at Westbrook - Ebenezer & Har[r]y." In 1851 the family of Ebenezer were living in a 2 story frame house in Kingston Twp on CL 3 west/6 & 7, and owning 170 ac. Abstract of Will of Ebenezer Benjamin, dated 6 Jun 1883, witessed by: Anson Storms and Henry Benjamin: "... residue of property and estate to wife, Maria Benjamin for her natural life, then to: sons, George Washington Benjamin, and Thomas Damon Benjamin; daughters, Phebe Matilda wife of Russel Howard, Martha Jane, wife of Lewis LaFontesee, Sarah Leticia Benjamin and Mary Cecilia Benjamin. Execs: sons, Geo. W. & Charles W. Benjamin. ... description of property involved: Kingston Twp, CL 3, parts of lots 6 & 7 (120 ac +/-) valued at $4,000; against which there is a mortgage to Harvey Warner of Napanee for 1,400. with 1 years interest of $91. owing. |
