Dorothy Shear -- Arvada, Colo.
Dorothy L. Shear, 91, of Arvada, Colo., formerly of
Kankakee, died Sunday (Feb. 19, 2006) in Wheatridge, Colo.
There will be no visitation or services. A springtime memorial
of scattering of ashes will be in the Colorado mountains.
Mrs. Shear had worked as a grocery cashier for over 20
years at Thrif-T-Mart. She was born Dec. 12, 1914, in
Kankakee, the daughter of Ira and Ida Johnson
David. Her husband, Merwin
Shear, whom she married Aug. 24, 1933, in Kankakee, is
deceased. She was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels and candy
lady for Fortin Villa Orphanage. She was a member of Wesley
United Methodist Church, the Moose Lodge and the Elks Country
Club.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and
Sandra Shear of Cherokee Village, Ark., Edwin and Nancy Shear
of Arvada, Colo.; one brother and sister-in-law, Donald and
Gwyneth David of St. Anne;
10 grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two
great-great-grandchildren.
Deceased are one daughter, Donna; one brother,
Verle
David; and three
grandchildren, Mark and David
Shear and Barbara Dunn.
