in Clifton, Illinois. The obituary below was
printed in the Iroquois County Times on
September 16, 1892. The obituary at right
was probably printed in the Clifton Comet.

After his death, John's wife Almaretta
continued to live in Clifton, Illinois. In
1920 and in 1930 she is listed as living
with Nathaniel and Estella Stevens
(her daughter) in Chebanse Township,
Iroquois County, Illinois.

In 1930, Almaretta was 78 years old.
It is not known when she died.
