In May 1851, Jacob was deeded 1 acre in east ½ CL 4/27
Ernestown Twp, by his father Elijah; Jacob is living there in January
1852, when the 1851 Census was taken.
In 1853, Jacob is involved in a land transfer of Ernestown
CL 4/33, bordering on William St.
In 1857-58 Jacob is listed as being a millwright in Simcoe
Falls, Canada West (Yarker).
Death records indicate that
Jacob's wife (Anne or Hanna) died in Momence, Illinois, on December 4,
1898.
In 1900, Jacob is living alone in Momence, Kankakee
County, Illinois.
Both the 1900 census and Jacob's death
record list his occupation as wagon maker.
Jacob's death
record says he died on December 10, 1902. This record conflicts with
the date that was inscribed on his gravestone -- February 20.
