Charles Burling, son of Joseph and Susan Cox Burling, was born near Grant Park, Kankakee County, Illinois, May 8, 1867. He had not been well for a number of years. Four weeks ago from date of death , he took to his bed and died March 23, 1932, age 64 years, 10 months and 16 days at the home of his brother James Burling, with whom he has made his home for many years. Two brothers and four sisters having proceeded him in death. As a boy and young man, he attended the Salem School house, Sunday School and Church services as long as it was maintained and loved to remember those days and the wonderful memories of a devoted mother, whose example was the way of Jesus and His church. He belonged to the Odd Fellows and Mason Lodges. He never married. He was a true and devoted brother, a hard worker, a good citizen and a true friend of mankind. |
