| Gertrude has no birth record.
According to Gertrude's death certificate, she was born in 1893.
Greater evidence from the 1900 census, her first marriage certificate, and
from her son's birth certificate indicate that she was born in 1886. Gertrude's body was interred in the mausoleum built by her mother, Nell Clark. After Nell's death, the mausoleum is supposed to have contained five bodies: Carrie Benjamin Langan, Sylvia Wadley Smith, Arthur Clark, Gertrude Clark Berchier, and Nellie Clark. In 1991, the deceased in the mausoleum were buried in unmarked graves, and today the mausoleum stands empty. |
