*August F. Johnk came to the United States from Germany, settling on a farm in Lincoln Township, Pottawattamie County, Iowa, where they lived all their married life. Their descendants have stayed in Pottawattamie County. August “Gus" F. Johnk came to the US in 1873 or 1874 and naturalized in 1884. *1910 Federal Census says Helen had 6 children, only 5 were living at that time. August was a farmer and owned his own farm. |
